Partnerships Manager
Babylon Migrants Project is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Partnerships Manager!
Initially for a fixed term of 1 year, with a 3 month probation period
Freelance, 6 days per month at £200/day (flexible hours)
About Us
Babylon Migrants Project (Babylon) is a Community Interest Company which runs creative activities by and for young people from refugee, asylum seeking and migrant backgrounds.
Established in October 2022, Babylon has already made a significant impact in empowering young people through creative and community building activities. We have engaged with over 150 Babylon participants in 90 workshops in our London and Stoke-on-Trent hubs, and together with partners and collaborators such as Safe Passage, British Red Cross, we have run over 100 workshops, reaching almost 2,000 participants.
Our mission is to address the disadvantage and exclusion young refugees, asylum-seekers, and migrants face and enable them to integrate into life in the UK. We do so through delivering workshops in London and Stoke-on-Trent in artforms such as art, drama, music and film, which help participants gain the skills, confidence, and the support networks they need to thrive in the UK.
The Role
Babylon is in an exciting phase of development. Having expanded from London into a second hub in Stoke-on-Trent, we currently run workshops twice a month in both locations. In order to increase our provision and our team capacity, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Partnerships Manager to support our growth by developing new partnerships for income generation and outreach. You will work closely with the leadership team to understand our existing network, income streams and funding priorities, identify potential partnership opportunities, and develop compelling proposals and engagement tools.
Main areas of focus
Corporate fundraising
Developing a strategy for corporate fundraising, introducing this income stream to Babylon’s existing modes of income generation
Identifying and prospecting potential corporate funders that align with Babylon’s work and values
Developing compelling proposals and engagement tools with which to target corporate funders
Monitoring reporting schedules and requirements for funders
Stewarding corporate partners towards making repeat gifts
Identifying opportunities for businesses to offer Babylon Support in Kind
Outreach and trading income
Identifying and researching opportunities for Babylon to deliver paid workshops for external organisations, such as businesses, schools and larger charities
In collaboration with our Communications team, developing materials to market Babylon workshops to external organisations
General
Attending Babylon core team meetings (roughly 2x per month, often in the evenings)
Undertaking any other duties which may be reasonably requested by the Babylon Directors

Essential Criteria
Experience:
Experience of developing and managing corporate partnerships
Proven experience of generating income
Knowledge and skills:
Knowledge of the corporate funding landscape
Strong project management skills
Experience of setting and achieving targets and producing work to agreed deadlines
Strong organisational & planning skills to manage a varied workload
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
Personal qualities:
A self-starter with good interpersonal, communication skills, happy to work with a small, virtual team

Active interest in supporting young refugees, asylum seekers and migrants

Desirable Criteria
Experience:
Experience of working with a small charity or CIC
Knowledge and skills:
Experience of creating budgets
Creative and technical skills for developing eye-catching promotional materials
Personal qualities:
Lived experience of migration or displacement
