World Refugee Day 2024

Refugee Week, the world's biggest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees, took place from June 17th to 23rd, 2024.

This year's theme, “Our Home,” resonated deeply as many around the globe continue to be forced from their homes due to systems of persecution, occupation, and conflict.

While the news often brings stories of hardship, Refugee Week is a time to come together as a collective and honour the strength and contributions of refugees worldwide. It is a reminder that our commitment to supporting refugees extends beyond just this week; it's an ongoing effort of advocacy, solidarity, and action.

On June 20th, we joined Conversation Over Borders, Asylum Speakers, Conversations From Calais, Safe Passage and Pollination UK for a night of inspiring speakers, workshops, and storytelling at King's House in London. Ali took part in a panel discussion with Gulwali Passarlay, Jaz O’ Hara, Mathilda Delia Torre, Paul Njenga and Giel Malual, emphasising the importance of listening to the voices of refugees and respecting their choice to share their stories. It was a special evening with some wonderful people!
