Our Home

What does home mean to you?

This question was explored in “Our Home,” a one-of-a-kind performance crafted by our participants. The performance took the audience on a journey of joy, hope, and reflection, with moments of laughter and tears.

It was a real reminder for me of the importance of aiming high. You can, and should, have ambitious expectations and push for a high standard and quality of work. The young people can, and will achieve that, if you give them the opportunity to rise to the challenge.” Lerato Islam, who scripted the performance.

The play concluded by contemplating whether it’s possible to change the minds of those with xenophobic views, highlighting the unique and diverse experiences of refugees and the need to honour their individual stories.
